The Corporate Vice President of Sales and Marketing is responsible for assisting the DOSMs/SM/GM in a region with short/long term planning and day to day operations of the hotel’s sales & marketing department. Position is also responsible for supporting SVP Sales & Marketing with tactical planning, project assignments and execution of sales, marketing, public relations and e-commerce distribution. Provides regular oversight of all top-line revenue activities including, but not limited to forecasting, SMART Plans, Pricing, eCommerce and market share penetration.
Provides Guidance to the DOSMs/SMs/GMs in the overall solicitation efforts of the sales, eCommerce, catering & revenue management teams in a manner consistent with established standards and policies.
Assists with human resource efforts for the Sales Department in the region, while consulting with SVP of Sales & Marketing. Is directly involved in recruiting, hiring and supports training, motivation and retention efforts for DOSMs and their staffs. Coaches and develops individuals to enhance productivity and growth
Ensures hotels in the region implement appropriate company/brand programs and DOSMs are managing the department operations in a manner consistent with established policies and procedures. Reviews forecasts monthly, business plans, statements and a variety of internal/external reports.
Reviews and make recommendations for the department’s business plans and actions.
Ensures DOSM is developing and continually enhancing relationships with internal and external customers, Ownership, industry/community, organizations, peers, professional associations and the media.
Guides DOSMs/SMs/GMs as needed on actions resulting from surveys, and analysis of competition, market trends, and customer needs in an effort to develop/modify new plans, actions and programs.
Performs special projects and other tasks as assigned. Participates in task force and committees as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
Education: Four year college degree or equivalent education/experience required.
Experience: Five to ten years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s). Must possess a proven track record of success in achieving revenue objectives; proven ability to recruit, motivate and train sales team.
