TITLE: Accounting Manager (OEM)

REPORTS TO: Director of Finance

BASIC PURPOSE:  Assists with the supervision and coordination of the accounting operations in the hotel.  Compiles, reviews, reconciles, prepares and analyzes entries to facilitate the bookkeeping function.  Assists with the processing of financial statements and other reports to ensure accurate, timely information. Assists in processing Payroll Register and relevant reports

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:        

1.       Prepare, review and reconcile daily postings, accruals, various general ledger accounts and bank statements to ensure accurate financial information is available.

2.       Compile, prepare, back-up and analyze various financial reports and statements to provide accurate, timely information to management, corporate and the owners.

3.       Compile, prepare, back-up and analyze period-end data on food and beverage costs and inventories (gift shop where applicable) to provide information and recommendations to management on current procedures and controls.  Assist with the preparation of cost potentials as required.

4.       May supervise the accounts receivable function and perform the hotel’s credit/collection and food & beverage control function to ensure accurate, timely and quality service and support to hotel customers and management.

5.       Review and monitor internal control procedures in the hotel.  Areas included are Food & Beverage, Cashiering, Room Operations & Payroll.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.       Assist with the compilation and preparation of the financial statement, periodic forecasts and annual budget to provide support to ensure timely, accurate information.

2.       Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.  Participate in task forces and committees as requested.

Knowledge and Skills:

Education:  A four year college degree (Accounting preferred) or equivalent education/experience.       

Experience: Experience required by position is from one to two full years of

employment in related position with this company or other organization(s). Must have functional and working knowledge of local and state laws regarding payroll and relevant procedures.      

Skills and Abilities: Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices

within the finance and hospitality professions.  This includes experiential knowledge

required for management of people and complex problems.  Requires ability to

investigate and analyze current activities and information in a specialized field involving

readily available data and indicating logical conclusions

and recommendations.  Ability to communicate and provide information and

associated services to management, employees and guests.

Hours Required:            40-50 hours over a 5 day period; Scheduled days and times may

                                                          vary based on need.
